Universal Orlando Resort is gearing up for its 33rd annual Halloween Horror Nights event beginning August 30th! This year the event will include 10 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, and their Nightmare Fuel show. Four houses are centered around pre-existing IPs; A Quiet Place, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Insidious: The Further, and Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines. Each of these universes has had recent additions to their respective franchises or future plans. Possibly the most interesting house is Eternal Bloodlines as the Universal Monsters will be getting their own land next year in Universal’s Epic Universe. The six additional houses are either new or sequels to original houses from previous events including Monstrous: the Monsters of Latin America, Slaughter Sinema 2, Museum: Deadly Exhibits, Major Sweets: Candy Factory, Goblin’s Feast, and Triplets of Terror.
Universal has also announced its scare zones for 2024. Zones this year will include Enter the Blumhouse, Duality of Fear, Demon Queens, Swamp of the Undead, and Torture Faire. While there are numerous speculation maps currently available via the internet, there is no definitive map currently posted by Universal Orlando. That said, in the description of Duality of Fear on the official Universal Orlando Resort website it is stated that you will select a sinister or surreal path to follow at the entrance meaning that Duality of Fear should be the first zone of the park.

Demon Queens and Torture Faire have similar descriptions as Demon Queens refers to surreal and Torture Faire refers to sinister. After the entrance you can go to Minion Land or Hollywood on usual park days; it is safe to assume these park areas will be the surreal and sinister paths for Halloween Horror Nights this year. Enter the Blumhouse and Swamp of the Undead do not have as blatant wording as Queens or Faire. Based on the descriptions given by Universal and the overall content of the zones, it is likely Blumhouse will be connected to Faire on the sinister path as Swamp will be to Queens on the surreal path.
Need a Break from the scares? Orlando will also host their Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus show and daytime rides will be open during the event, though additional details are not yet available.
