Universal Orlando Attraction Overview: Early Admission and Closures

     With Epic Universe’s grand opening around the corner, it’s time to review Early Park Admission and upcoming closures for Universal’s Orlando parks.

     Currently, three of the four Universal Orlando parks offer early park admission on select dates throughout the year. While closing times vary, the Orlando parks have consistent opening hours per park. Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure open at 9 am and Volcano Bay at 10 am. No park hours have been posted for Universal Epic Universe, though the park will offer Early Park Admission.

     Early Park Admission for Epic Universe will offer up to 1 hour of early entry beginning on May 23rd of this year. This is one day after the grand opening, on May 22nd. The attractions that will be included are Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Mine-Cart Madness, Yoshi’s Adventure, and Stardust Racers.

Epic Universe: Super Nintendo World Construction

     Like Epic Universe, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios offer Early Park Admission up to one hour before regular operating hours. However, no upcoming Universal Studios Florida dates are available. On the other hand, Volcano Bay only offers up to 30 minutes of Early Park Admission.

     For Islands of Adventure, attractions available are concentrated in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade with Flight of the Hippogriff, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Ollivanders all being open during this time. Jurassic World VelociCoaster is the only early admission exception.

     Volcano Bay’s early entry will include Honu and ika Moana of the Honu ika Moana, Ko’okiri Body Plunge, Krakatau Aqua Coaster, and the Waturi Wave Pool. It is important to note that the Early Park Admission details for Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay are only updated to March 31st. Beginning in April, these attractions may change.

Early Park Admission Information

     Temporary Attraction Closures are posted for the three open parks. Islands of Adventure will have Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges closed through March 15th and The Nighttime Lights At Hogwarts Castle and Pteranodon Flyers for an undisclosed time. Volcano Bay is also experiencing closures of the Ohyah and Ohno of the Ohyah and Ohno Drop Slides and the Puka Uli Lagoon through February 13th. Though Universal Studios Florida has no Temporary Attraction Closures, Rip Ride Rocket is closing permanently this September.
