The rumors are true! John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, and Nick Frost have all been officially cast as Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, and Hagrid, respectively. New announcements include Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse as Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch.

Neither the Dursleys nor any child actors are confirmed. The Open Casting Call for Harry, Hermione, and Ron requested that the young actors be between 9 and 11 years old by April of this year. Given this specification, the lead announcements may be revealed by the end of the month. Production is scheduled to begin this summer and air in 2026 or 2027.
