Warner Bros. Discovery has revealed our first look at Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter. As production officially begins, we now have a clearer expected release date. Warner has confirmed a 2027 debut for both HBO and the newly (re)branded HBO Max. For reference, HBO’s streaming service, “HBO Max,” was renamed “Max” in 2023, but has since reverted to the original “HBO Max” title.

The media release also announced four additional casting decisions. Rory Wilmot has been cast as the underdog Neville Longbottom. Flying instructor Madam Rolanda Hooch will be played by Louise Brealey. Anton Lesser will portray wandmaker Garrick Ollivander. Finally, Amos Kitson will play Harry’s cousin Dudley Dursley. With Petunia and Vernon Dursley already announced, the entire Dursley family is now cast.
